Sunshine is abundant during the growing season in the Encore Vineyard, located in the Rutherford appellation, which is in the Napa Valley’s center and at its widest point. We make an average of 568 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon annually using grapes from this 5-acre vineyard. The soil is deep and gravelly and gives the grapes the distinctively grainy tannins the region is known for, famously termed “Rutherford dust.”
